Ryan graduated with Honors from the University of Utah with a BA in Political Science and emphasis certification in International Relations. He speaks fluent Italian and loves learning new languages.

Ryan enjoys camping, hiking and other outdoor activities with his wife Tiffany and their two children. He is a talented sketch artist and enjoys drawing, reading and writing to relax. An accomplished marksman, he enjoys competing with both rifle and pistol and placed 6th nationally in the 1996 JROTC Rifle Marksmanship Championship.
